IFHope: Partnering With the People of Afghanistan

IFHope has been operating as a private organization since 1998 and became a public charity in 1999. Staff relationships with Afghanistan country stretch back more than 40 years. IFHope was there during the Taliban's reign, encouraging and supporting education, business and agriculture, and is there now, partnering with the people of Afghanistan to rebuild their country.

The International Foundation of Hope (IFHope) is a US based Non Governmental Organization (NGO) that recognizes and values the tremendous potential of the people of Afghanistan. IFHope has been in Afghanistan since 1998 working in three interrelated areas: economic development, community empowerment, and education.

In the early stages, IFHope also established health clinics, developed a women's quilting project, as well as provided food, blankets, medicine and clothing to the most needy. Now the focus in on development and education.

IFHope values partnership rather than competition or duplication and promotes no political or religious agenda.

IFHope's Approach:

Establish and work closely with local community leadership councils to identify needs and implement projects. This process fosters democracy, self reliance and sustainability.

Build keystone projects to serve as models of innovative entrepreneurial businesses.

Seek partnerships with organizations that have a proven expertise to benefit the people of Afghanistan.
